Kithul flour mixture.

I don't know exactly what this food is called generally. So I had to call it here as 'Kithul Flour mixture'.

I had no idea what to cook for breakfast that day. Then suddenly I thought of making this food as Kithul flour available in husband's buttik where he sells different kinds of Ayurvedic items. However this is not the first time I made this.

So let's see how I cooked this that day.

I required below ingredients to accomplish.

2 cups of water

2 cups of Kithul flour

1 1/2 cups of coconut milk

Less than 1tsp of salt

3 tbsp of sugar

First I put water to heat.

When it's heat enough to 100°C I put Kithul flour into the vessel little by little.

While it's being added stirred it well. Then I put coconut milk and stirred.

Keep stirring the mixture. Then I added salt and sugar while it's been stirred. You may add more sugar if you want though I had 3tbsp only.

Keeping the mixture in the heat for 4-5 minutes is enough.

Now our breakfast is ready and it's sweet. As it's heat goes off, it becomes stiff so that you can even cut it off into pieces too.!

Fact: I came to know that this food gives alot of strength to our body. However obtaining Kithul flour is not easy work. Kithul tree(Fish Tail Palm) has to be cut off and seperated. Then Kithul bada is cut off into pieces and it is dissolved in the water, the mixture then is dried to become flour.

I have seen pregnant mothers demand this fruit. Let's see what it has got to offer us: Firstly it bears a nice taste & it has many nutritious benefits for us.  Its leaves also act as a remedy for some skin problems such as bacteria infections. Crushed leaves and turmeric together makes its possible.

Kokis crispy and tasty

For this traditional new year festival celebration, everyone makes traditional foods. Hmm I could make kokis only though there are many kinds of food.  To make kokis I allocated 300g rice flour, Coconut milk of one coconut, make 2 cups from it. About 1tsp of salt, 1tbsp of sugar.. you may add more for your taste preference. 🙂 1tsp of turmeric powder to give it a yellow colour.  1 egg to avoid stickiness ; helps easily removed from mould. I used 1tbsp of butter for the same reason . But I suggest that you need not use butter because it might cause the mould not to get enough of the batter as it increases slippery. Oil 500ml Let's see how we can make the batter for the kokis: Put rice flour into a bowl. Then add coconut milk (2 cups) little by little and stir it well. Add turmeric powder, salt, sugar and mix it well. I added butter as well but I recommend you not to.  We have finished making the batter...🙂 Next .. Sink the mould into the batter then sink the mould w...
